A LITTLE BIT ABOUT ME
I was born in the wintertime in Munich and raised in the sun of Sydney. Living for more than
a decade in Singapore and Hong Kong, I’ve come full circle, and once again call Germany home.
I now live near beautiful mountains (with more mountains made of chocolate) with two crazy cats (one sweet, the other mischievous) and three boys (one big, two small) all mischievous.
After graduating with a Bachelor of Design, in Visual Communications (University of Technology Sydney) with First-Class Honours and the University Medal, I worked in advertising as an Art Director for Young and Rubicam in Sydney.
Wanting a return to creating artwork, I did a Masters in Art, in Painting & Drawing (University
of New South Wales). Then, becoming a mother and my addiction to books and art, led me to
the wonderful world of children’s book illustration.
I’ve fallen in love with narrative illustration and have illustrated ten books using a range
of media - charcoal, collage, watercolour, pencil, digital and more.
I'm a long time member of the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators (SCBWI). I have given talks for SWF (Singapore Writer’s Festival), AFCC (Asian Festival of Children’s Content),
the Colour Society of Australia, Apple, Singapore as well as multiple bookstores and schools.
But I’m happiest when surrounded by books, paint, animals and tea
… oh and those mountains of chocolate.
